The application of batteries in electric vehicles and stationary energy-storage systems is widely seen as a promising enabler for sustainable mobility the energy sector. Although significant improvements have been achieved last decade terms higher battery performance lower production costs, there remains high potential to be tapped, especially along chain. However, process highly complex due numerous process–structure structure–performance relationships chain, many which are not yet fully understood.
